Madagascar published in 2022 its national Food Systems Transformation Pathways to support the transformation of food systems towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, following the call by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres during the Food Systems Summit 2021.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MINAE) has formally announced the launch of a groundbreaking study on the transformation of food systems in Madagascar. This study will explore how food systems can be transformed to provide healthy and affordable diets for all, while also addressing environmental sustainability and nutrition.

The Zero Hunger Coalition organised in December in Madagascar the first onsite "South-South dialogue" between Madagascar, Benin and the DRC.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, with the support of the Zero Hunger Coalition, organised a two-day workshop on the implementation of the country’s Action Plan that was attended by over 100 participants representing other government ministries, multilateral organisations, donor governments and the private sector involved in the process. During the first day, the Action Plan and the Zero Hunger Coalition’s Evidence-Based and Costed Roadmap have been presented.
During the second day, participants made commitments to be included in the Action Plan.
