Vision and Action

The Zero Hunger Coalition catalyses coordinated action to achieve zero hunger in the world by 2030 by bringing a broad range of stakeholders together and aligning them to science-based, high-impact actions. The Coalition aligns its work with the outcomes of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021, using the national food systems pathways as guidance.

Identifying and supporting country needs

Aligning and catalysing evidence-based action

Mechanism

A flexible and lean facilitation mechanism, composed of an Advisory Group and Coordination Team, supports the work of the Zero Hunger Coalition.

The Advisory Group is composed of a diverse and inclusive group, including governments, international organisations, civil society, and private sector networks.

The Coordination Team acts as the secretariat of the Coalition. Its role is to advise and coordinate implementation across countries and agencies. It is composed of representatives from GAIN, FAO, IFAD, the Shamba Centre for Food & Climate and WFP.

Collaboration with the Food Systems Hub

The UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, hosted by FAO on behalf of the UN system, aims to stimulate and support action for SDGs-based food systems transformation towards 2030. The Coalition is an active member of the Hub's 'Ecosystem of Support' that brings together expertise and knowledge from diverse constituencies to support progress on national food systems transformation pathways and the SDGs implementation.
