Raising the profile of a Zero Hunger Coalition champion
The Food4Transformation platform has recently published a profile about Dr Felix Pensulo Phiri, a strong supporter of the Zero Hunger Coalition. Felix, who currently serves as the Head of the Department of Nutrition, HIV and AIDS at the Ministry of Health in Malawi, participated in the implementation of Coalition's Evidence-based and Costed roadmap for his country.
According to the article, Felix's work can serve as a model for other countries. In Malawi, he is one of the key drivers of change in the food systems. "We have created a common place within the government," he notes in the article. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, various departments in the country collaboratively address nutrition issues. This collaborative model can serve as a example other countries.
Felix has also worked towards the implementation of the recommendations of the Zero Hunger Coalition's roadmap for Malawi.
He also spoke during the Hesat2030 launch which took place alongside the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment in July 2023.
